Sounds amazing! The octal tubes definitely gives it a bit more of a power amp distortion sound than your typical preamp distortion, just like Mike said. Very tweed-like. Love the sound you where getting with the p90s!

How is the master volume on this amp? Can this amp do low volume well for at home late night playing when wife and kids asleep?

I purchased a Jet Black and it immediately started cutting in and out, spent $1800 some odd bucks on that amp. I contacted Bad Cat customer service and they told me to take the amp to a local service shop, or send it back to them, When I replied and asked for the repair address and RA# Bad Cat C.S.dld not respond to my emails or voice mails. I'm convinced their C.S. deptartment is run by 17 year old ex-Guitar Center employees. Horrible Amp, Horrible experience. If you are thinking about purchasing from Bad Cat, I'd suggest moving on to a company that values their customers.

Of the many harmonically rich tones inside the Z 80 , Chris you did a wonderful job of demoing 5 of them. I dug @ 2:38 " Play That Funky Music White Boy ". Thanks Jay and Chris for producing an excellent video , as always ! The Z 80 has an amazing PPIMV so don't fear the 80 watt rating. There is no replacement for displacement and the power of this amp gives tones and harmonics you won't find in a lower powered amp.

If you had a choice between this and the Dr Z Z plus combo what one are you choosing and why ? I know one is 30 wattage and the other 30 but I'm not playing huge places . I was gonna grab the z plus till I saw the X Ray just came out . I know both would be a great choice but I plan on tlrunijng either with a Mojotone Blackout British 18 . Which is a 6V6 Marshall circuit. I plan on running both in Stero or wet/ Dry

I'd buy it just for the knobs. Sure isn't a cookie cutter layout. Would look super nice with a custom cherry enclosure instead of the one it has - not that it looks bad at all.

The guitar that really needs to run through this is a Les Paul Special with P90's ...
